Biography: Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. was a well-known attorney
who was greatly famed for defending O.J. Simpson during his incredibly famous
murder trial. Cochran is known for his work with celebrity cases and has also
represented Sean “P. Diddy” Combs during the gun and bribery charges, Michael
Jackson during the child molestation charges and also people like football
player Jim Brown and rappers like Tupac Shakur and Snoop Dogg on more than one
occasion. Also known for his skill in the courtroom and is conspicuousness as
an early defender of police abuse victims, Cochran was instilled with high
values of racial tolerance, independence and exceeding academic limits. His
father described him in his youth to be "a kid who really was attentive,
obedient, competitive and hard working," who had striven to be the best at
everything he did, and not let anyone work harder then him. Influenced by his
neighbors after moving to a higher class neighborhood, Cochran decided at a
young age, that he could achieve his goals, no matter how high. For a long
time, Cochran was considered the top notch lawyer for the rich and famous.
Cochran
was diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor in December of 2003. This same
tumor caused the death of young Cochran march 29, 2005 even after he underwent
a surgery in 2004 and reported to newspapers that he was feeling well and in
positive health.
